| Pier - 100% burnt out |
People of Eastbourne watched in horror as the 144 year old tourist attraction went up in flames last month. Their grief was compounded when they learnt that Piers Morgan had announced on Twitter that same afternoon that he too was suffering from burn out and planned to retire from all public duties for a year. Local firefighter Terry Gooch found the timing a little insensitive. 'I was halfway up the fire ladder, evacuating the women and children to safety when I decided to check Twitter quickly. I couldn't believe that Piers would try and steal the headlines on a day like today.' Not everyone in Eastbourne was angered by its timing however. Betty Woolcock told Bikini Weekly that she was delighted upon hearing the news.

'Seeing the pier on fire today really broke my heart.' Said Betty. 'A lot of the Eastbourne folk are inconsolable right now. Yet when we heard that Piers was also suffering from burn out, for many of us it really cushioned the blow. It will be good to turn on the TV set again without having to see that smug pompous weasel arse face of his.' Piers later removed his tweet saying he was suffering from burn out and instead retweeted, 'I'm sorry for any offence caused to the people of Eastbourne. I'm glad that at least two thirds of the Piers is in tact. Unlike me, I'm 100% burnt out.'
